As Uşakligil Sound Barrier, together with our ministry, a noise map of 66 provinces, including Konya, was prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, a project was prepared for a 1416 square meter noise barrier in Konya and studies were started.
Objective Noise Pollution Reduction
With the contribution of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, noise maps of 66 provinces and noise action plans for 19 provinces have been prepared in recent months to reduce and control noise pollution in cities.
Noise pollution for cities has become an increasingly important issue in terms of quality of life. In this context, the Ministry carries out studies for the management of environmental noise and the protection of the peace and tranquility of the citizens.
In accordance with the “Regulation on Evaluation and Management of Environmental Noise” prepared by the Ministry, noise maps are prepared for urbanized areas with a population of more than 100 thousand and a population density of more than a thousand people per square kilometer in order to carry out acoustic planning in cities and to protect quiet and calm areas. There are 66 provinces across Turkey that meet this criterion. In this context, the Ministry accelerated the preparation of noise maps and completed the noise map of 66 provinces.
Usakligil Noise Action Plans
Environmental noise action plans are also prepared under the coordination of the Ministry, taking into account the results of the noise maps.
The environmental noise action plan of the provinces of Konya, Bursa, Mersin, Kayseri, Sivas, Manisa, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Antalya, Bolu, Balıkesir, Tekirdağ, Gaziantep, Eskişehir, Kahramanmaraş, Trabzon, Sakarya, Ankara and Denizli has been completed.
Within the scope of the action plans prepared by the Ministry to reduce the road-borne noise exposure of citizens, noise barriers are built on the routes where traffic safety and technical conditions are provided.
Within the scope of the Presidential Action Program, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change also provides financial support to noise barrier projects that meet the technical requirements and application conditions for the target of 60 thousand square meters of noise barrier construction in 5 years.
Where Is The Noise Barrier In Konya?
In this context, the construction of noise barriers started in Konya. Work is underway for a 1416 square meter noise barrier next to the Courthouse on the Adana Ring Road in Karatay district.
The ongoing work is expected to be completed in a short time.
The area where the noise barrier is installed is on the route of those who will use Karapınar-Ereğli-Adana, Çumra-Karaman and Seydişehir-Antalya roads from the city center of Konya.
In addition, those who come from the aforementioned routes and use the Beyşehir-Isparta and Kadınhanı-Ilgın-Akşehir-Afyonkarahisar roads also pass through here.
